Description
Grey decorative cloth with gold titles; floral endsheets. Paper is browned and fairly brittle especially in front and back sections; covers show minimal wear although the spine is somewhat darkened. Profusely illustrated by Edmund Bunsell in the style of Tenniel, this blatant copycat follows the boy Davy into a fantasy world of candy people, talking animals, and meetings with Sinbad the Sailor and Robinson Crusoe. Considered one of the first copycat books inspired by Alice. At least the author admits it!. Bookseller Inventory # D-247
