Description
Yellow cloth with dramatic black pictorial cover image and spine title. Book is in fine condition with no bumps, marks, or inscriptions. Jacket is VG+ with a one-inch chip from the bottom front corner, and very minor wear to edges. This was a "author's series" --the books have no common characters or setting. From Mary Crosson's No Frills Juvenile Series Book Information Site: "'Frank V. Webster' was a Stratemeyer Syndicate pseudonym. Actual writers include Howard Garis, St. George Rathbone, and J.W. Lincoln and Weldon J. Cobb. The stories' settings are varied, but can generally be described as Algeresque. Typically, the hero is a poor boy, often an orphan, who must fend for himself, thwarted by evil adults (e.g. Bob Chester's Grit) or 'enemy boys' (e.g. The Newsboy Partners) who are conspiring against him.".
